80 Days Wiki

Winnipeg is a city in 80 Days. It is a city situated in central Canada, known as a transport hub.

Events[]

While walking around the city, Fogg and Passepartout encounter a riderless horse barreling down their street at full gallop. Quick reflexes manage to save the pair from any harm as the horse continues its mad dash through the city. A new ground shaking rumbling alerts the men to a posse of Mounted Police, who stop to ask some questions about the whereabouts of their missing horse. It seems a new recruit, Alfred, is a bit scared of horses and let the creature escape his control. The Mountie in charge, Sergeant James McLeod, introduces himself to Passepartout and asks them about what they're doing in Canada. When he learns of their wager he will helpfully point out some possible routes back to London before riding off again in hot pursuit.

Alternatively, Passepartout can attempt to grab the horse's reins and ride the beast himself, resulting in an hour long ride through Winnipeg, during which Passepartout has no control over the horse. It only ends when the horse tires itself out and a brigade of Mounties can finally catch up, only to accuse Passepartout of horse theft and throw him in jail for the night.
