Although Passepartout is taken in by the promise of Ancient Egyptian monuments, Phileas Fogg is disdainful of his valet's tourist-like attitude. Furthermore, there is a heavy military presence in Luxor, as Sudanese separatists have tried to hide from the Ottoman Empire's watchful eye in the city.
If Passepartout has arrived in Luxor aboard the Nile Express along with Helena Kapodistrias, they will check into a hotel together and plan to visit the nearby tombs the next day. But next morning Passepartout and Fogg discover that Helena has vanished. Examining her room and using her projector, which mysteriously found its way into Passepartout's luggage, the two can discover that Helena has been kidnapped and taken aboard the Osiris Line airship to Manama. Passepartout and Fogg can choose to give chase and attempt to rescue Helena aboard the airship.
