–Jamuna Gajani |
Jamuna Gajani is a character in 80 Days. She is the owner of a fleet of airships in Karachi.
Background[]
Gajani's maiden name is Ezra and she is of Iraqi Jewish origin, namely Baghdad. She is the sister of Eli Ezra, a merchant. Her shipping fleet is one of the most renowned in India.
Role[]
Passepartout meets Gajani in Karachi. He notices her Hebrew name that does not match her Sindhi attire, an acknowledgement she protests against fiercely, claiming it isn't unnatural to dress to match the area one lives in. She offers him an airship to Delhi or Bombay.
Character[]
Gajani is surprisingly fierce, being deeply unimpressed with any questions Passepartout has about her origin and attire. Regardless, she is an esteemed businesswoman with great respect.
