Ivujivik is a location in 80 Days. It is a village situated in northern Quebec, Canada. A small town of only a few hundred souls, Ivujivik is a place that can either make a man, or break him. It is also the location of the northernmost airship hangar in the world, an attraction that draws in many adventurers.
Events[]
Once they arrive in Ivujivik, Phileas Fogg and Passepartout are disappointed to learn that the airship hangar they had hoped would provide them with transit onward is currently empty. Lacking any other options, Passepartout visits the local bar that night to hunt for any information regarding advice for how to continue. The bartender, an older woman named Opiq Ainaliq, joins Passepartout at a card table where he learns that she is not only the bartender but also the comptroller of the airship hangar. She explains that the hangar isn't busy enough for manning it all day to be worth it so she also runs the bar, but she does inform Passepartout of the next airship leaving for Reykjavik. To celebrate Passepartout can have a drink with her, which turns into many drinks and later a dare involving seal blubber, a lit match, and an ice floe. Opiq assures Passepartout that what happens in Ivujivik, stays in Ivujivik.
