The Ice Wind is an airship that flies from New York to Reykjavik.
Described as a "pendulously large" Savakar atmotic, the Ice Wind is a lighter-than-air craft which must be hauled down to the ground by steam-winches. It is a large ship but the vast majority of its space is occupied by a mysterious cargo, leaving so little space for passengers that Passepartout and Mr. Fogg are not permitted to bring any luggage with them.
Passepartout learns the contents of the troublesome cargo upon meeting an old friend in Reykjavik.
