Timetables give information about routes available in a particular region. When a timetable is in your inventory, all routes of the appropriate transportation type for the area will be revealed on the globe. When you lose the timetable, all those routes will disappear, unless you unlocked those routes through other means (exploring, conversations, adventures, etc.).
All timetables have the size of 2 in your luggage.
