The Cangrejo is a submersible ship that offers Passepartout and Fogg rescue from Pitcairn Island, travelling to Santiago. Passepartout initially mistakes the crew as Artificers, before suspecting that they are, in fact, drug-smugglers that have stolen the boat.
When the ship docks at Santiago, if Passepartout chooses to hang back while the crew disembark, then the crew are arrested while Passepartout and Monsieur Fogg pretend to be hostages. If Passepartout disembarks first, he can cry for help and claim to be pirate hostages. The soldiers will then accompany the pair to Santiago safely.
