Agra, also known as "the Moving City", is both a location in 80 Days and a method of transport. It is situated somewhere within India, although its exact location is complicated by the fact that the city moves around on giant mechanical legs. It is known as the largest automaton in the world.

Like it's real world counterpart, Agra is the home of the Taj-Mahal, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a monument to his late wife Mumtaz Mahal. However, unlike in the real world, Emperor Jahan was also able to place the entire city (including the Taj Mahal) atop four enormous mechanical legs, allowing the city to freely move around.

Agra's movement raises clear issues of sovereignty; despite originally being built in India (and therefore claimed by the British), Agra often passes unencumbered through independent territories. The legs are so powerful that they leave gigantic gouges in the Earth and have been known to accidentally crush sleeping farmers.

The mechanism that moves the city is surprisingly stable, allowing for a smooth journey. Whilst in transit, passengers can enjoy the view or have their photo taken. It is also possible to meet Daya, one of the Moving City's engineers, who will give you a tour of the lower decks and of the engine's mysterious power-source.
