There are cities like Havana, Miami, San Diego, Rio De Janeiro that seem inaccessible. Is there a way there , and if not, will there be an update? P.S. Route Advertises Havana but either goes to Haiti or Jamaica. Also advertises St. Denis but ends up in Sri Lanka or Indonesia.

Update coming to iOS Oct 1 as well. The PC version of this game has all the new content already.

With the update almost all the cities became accessible,but there are some new inaccessible cities like Duluth,Winisk and Las Vegas.

Miami route exists. I've taken it from Houston to Miami to Atlanta or a similar route to that.

Merv, Lusaka and Saint Denis remained inaccesible post-update and yeah, the update included three new inaccesible cities in Duluth, Winisk and Las Vegas.

Are there any new plans for an update any time soon? There are so many routes and cities the game doesn't include yet, and I once read a very vexing newspaper article on the "Ice Wind" to Reykjavik:
"New copper deposits found near Cape Horn." Does that mean there's a route on the Drake Passage?

Actually, there's not many inaccesible cities left (I actually listed the remaining 6 just above your comment) and I'd wager that we know about pretty much all routes in the game.
That said, I've also encountered the newspaper article you mentioned and... "it's most vexing indeed," as Monsieur Fogg would say. It either means there IS an an-yet-unexplored route in South America or the developers wanted to put one in, but decided otherwise for some reason (and let the news stay in the game accidentally.)

On the ship from Lima to Santiago (neither of them are actually seaports) if you ask the crew member if you can go with them to Antarctica, but she shoots you down. Is there a confirmed date where they announce a new update?

Nope, there's no more update scheduled, inkle themselves consider 80 Days a 'complete experience' after the previous update.
However, it doesn't mean the route doesn't exist - it's interesting what you wrote, I didn't about that conversation. Perhaps if you have the right items with you, they actually agree and divert the ship to make it around the southern tip of South America.

Has anyobody tried using the time machine technology on the crew member to show an image of Marco the penguin? (The one they had as a pet but had to eat to survive.) Maybe it's something else...
